December 10 @ 4:00 pm December 12 @ 2:00 pm

Coming in to land Geordie and Rata

At beautiful Mana Retreat Centre, COROMANDEL

–               Pause

–               Move

–               Write

–               Connect

In a culture addicted to busyness, one of the most radical acts we can take is to pause. In this retreat, we will practice slowing down, so that we can show up powerfully for what really matters.

Take some time out for you – to rest, re-set and rise to meet the new year from a grounded, centred and uplifted place.

An open & restful weekend, skillfully guided by Geordie & Rata designed to help you come home

– to health

– to nature

– to moment to moment presence

Retreat includes

  • gentle movement & dance
  • writing
  • meditation – sitting and walking
  • time in nature
  • delicious plant-based food

Open to everyone – whether you love to dance/move/write or not 🙂  No experience necessary.

All welcome. Come join us!

Cost

$510 NZD   includes 2 nights full room & board +  3 delicious plant-based meals/day + comfortable shared room accommodation. Private rooms available at higher price.

how would it feel

to stop chasing, searching, flying

and to come in to land

in the wet moss

of your own body?

you’ve come so far

the land is calling

touch down where you are

Geordie Jahner, Ph.D.  After 30 years of teaching dance as a healing art, Geordie is passionate about exploring ways in which our dance and embodiment practices can help us live more resilient, connected and mindful lives. She is curious to explore how we can use our dance practice to attune more deeply and know ourselves as inseparable from self, other & nature – as we learn how to care more mindfully for our bodies, each other and our beautiful habitat – planet earth.

Rata Gordon MA AT Hons is a writer, embodiment teacher and registered arts therapist. She loves creating beautiful messes in the spaces between poetry, visual arts, and dance. Rata has been practising ‘movement as medicine’ for 12 years and completed her dance teacher training with Open Floor International.

Her first collection of poetry, Second Person, was published in 2020 with Victoria University Press. Her work has also appeared in publications including Best New Zealand Poems 2016 and 2020Landfall and The Spinoff.

Her movement practice feeds and is fed by her writing practice. She teaches Open Floor dance regularly in Raglan, and also teaches online ‘Writing from the Body’ sessions. In her classes, Rata holds a supportive space for creative risk-taking and tending to your inner world.

The dream of my life

is to lie down

by a slow river

and stare at the trees

– to learn something

by being nothing.

~ Mary Oliver
