SUMMARY:5-Day Mindful Self-Compassion Intensive With Dr Anna Friis and Dr Robyn Charlton
DESCRIPTION:5-Day Mindful Self-Compassion Intensive\nWith Dr Anna Friis and Dr Robyn Charlton\nThis immersive five-day experience offers the complete Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) programme in a spacious\, restorative retreat setting.\nMindful Self-Compassion integrates the skills of mindfulness and compassion to support emotional resilience\, nervous-system regulation\, and a kinder relationship with ourselves. Developed by Dr Kristin Neff and Dr Christopher Germer\, MSC uses guided meditation\, experiential practices\, reflective exercises\, and gentle inquiry to help us meet difficulty with warmth rather than self-criticism. \nOver five days\, we step out of the busyness of everyday life and into a rhythm of practice\, rest\, and connection — learning how to become our own steady ally in\nmoments of stress\, uncertainty\, and change. Self-compassion is not self-indulgence or avoidance. It is a courageous inner stance that allows us to respond to struggle with clarity\, care\, and strength. \n\nWHAT THE RETREAT INCLUDES \n\nThe full Mindful Self-Compassion programme taught intensively over five days (fulfils the prerequisite for MSC Teacher Training)\nExclusive use of Mana Retreat Centre and grounds\nDelicious\, nourishing meals\nOptional yoga and Qigong classes\nCreative and reflective evening sessions\nTime for rest\, walking\, and integration\n\n\nTUITION\n$850 early bird (until 31 May 2026)\n$950 thereafter \nAccommodation and meals additional. \n\nTESTIMONIALS\n“Working with you has changed the most important relationship in my life — the relationship with myself.” — Vanessa\n“You are both absolute gems. This is the most mind-blowingly wonderful\, life- changing investment I have ever been lucky enough to participate in.” — Margot \n\nTHE TEACHING TEAM \nAnna Friis PhD \nAnna is a health psychologist in private practice in Auckland\, with a deep commitment to mindfulness- and compassion-based approaches to wellbeing. After a high-paced corporate career\, she developed a particular interest in helping people find balance\, ease\, and meaning in both their personal and professional lives.\nAnna was one of the first people to be trained as a teacher of MSC by Drs Neff and Germer and continues to be closely involved with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion’s (CMSC) mission to cultivate a kinder world (www.centerformsc.org). She is a senior teacher\, teacher trainer and mentor on the CMSC’s global training team. She is also a facilitator and teacher of the Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy (SCiP) training programme\, an initiative that trains mental health professionals from around the world in how to integrate the science and practise of self-compassion into their clinical work. Anna holds a PhD in Health Psychology from the University of Auckland\, where her research contributed new scientific knowledge on the mental and physical health effects of self-compassion among people living with diabetes. Her work has been published in leading international journals. She is a devoted yogini with three adult children\, and two utterly adorable small grandchildren. \nDr Robyn Charlton \nDr Robyn Charlton is a psychiatrist with nearly 20 years’ experience\, specialising in burnout\, ADHD\, trauma\, and perinatal mental health. Her work integrates lifestyle medicine\, mindfulness\, self-compassion\, and somatic approaches to support deep\, sustainable wellbeing. \nRobyn’s work spans three interconnected spaces: \n\nMindFitness Clinic — individual therapy and assessment for ADHD\, trauma\, and perinatal mental health\, drawing on EMDR\, MI-CBT\, Havening\, and compassion-based approaches\nMindFitness for Professionals — coaching\, retreats\, and burnout recovery for health and helping professionals\, grounded in nervous-system care and self-compassion\nMindFitness Education — training and CPD for clinicians in ADHD\, perinatal mental health\, and trauma-informed\, compassion-based care\n\nShe is the creator of the SOAR Self-Care Battery™\, a practical framework informed by polyvagal theory\, lifestyle medicine\, and positive neuroplasticity.\nThis model helps people recognise what drains their inner resources and choose intentional practices for restoration and resilience.\nRobyn is a certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher\, has completed the Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy (SCIP) programme\, and is currently co-\ndeveloping Self-Compassion for ADHD with Dr Christopher Germer. SUMMARY:5 Day Silent Meditation Retreat with Amrit Saraswati
DESCRIPTION:Join Amrit for an inner journey to discover the beauty of silence and explore the Self through various yogic techniques and meditation practices. \nThe retreat will be held at the stunning Mana Retreat Centre\, which is nestled in the luxuriant bush covered hills of the Coromandel with views out over the sea and islands. The warm\, welcoming\, natural atmosphere supports individual learning and renewal. \n\nThe Yogic Way of Meditation\nContrary to what many people think\, meditation is not passive nor is it about having an empty mind. Instead\, it is about self-exploration and allowing our innermost being to express itself. \nIn this yogic tradition\, we utilise breath awareness\, mantras (sacred sounds)\, charkas (energy centres)\, and energy pathways to develop subtle awareness and penetrate the deeper layers of our mind. \nRather than viewing our thoughts and emotions as distractions\, we work with what is and embrace the total spectrum of our inner experience with self-compassion and kindness. This eventually leads us to discover our true nature – the treasure within. \n\nThe Programme\nWe offer a well-structured programme. Each day is woven together by: \n-Sitting and Walking Meditation\n-Hatha Yoga (asana\, pranayama\, mudra\, and bandha)\n-Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation)\n-Chanting\n-Group Discussions\n-Use of Sauna and Bush Bath\n-Free Time to Rest and Connect with Nature \nA day will look like this: \n6.30am Yoga – Asana & Pranayama\n8.00-9.30am Breakfast & Free Time\n9.30am Meditation\n10.30am Break\n11.00am Meditation\n12.15pm Yoga Nidra\n1.00-4.00pm Lunch & Free Time\n4.00pm Yoga – Asana & Pranayama\n5.00pm Meditation\n6.30pm Dinner\n7.30pm Evening Session \nThis retreat offers a deep dive into the self. Although it accommodates all experience levels\, a genuine willingness and openness for self-exploration will help you get the most from the experience. Throughout the retreat\, you will be guided with compassion and respect. We create a safe and nurturing space for you to go deep. \n\nSilence\nSilence\, a spiritual practice in itself\, enables us to internalise and supports a deeper kind of nourishment. In a silent and meditative environment\, the body relaxes\, awareness sharpens\, and space opens for hidden impressions to release and insights to develop. Silence allows us to slow down and be truly present with our senses and the world around us. \nSilence will be observed from Friday until the end of the retreat. You will have opportunities to ask questions and share your experience during group discussions. \n\nWhat Others Say About This Retreat\nEvery person I met at the retreat had some need for tender care. And the land\, the staff\, the teachers and the teaching shared\, do just that. They create the conditions for you to open up to healing. – Francesca Bacci \nThe structure of the meditation retreat was a well thought out balance between movement and stillness which allowed for a smooth transition from daily life into peacefulness and relaxation. – Fay \nSilent Meditation Retreats have been more healing and revealing than any other ‘personal growth initiative’ I have undertaken…Each retreat has strengthened the relationship with myself. – Sarah \n\nIntroducing\nYour Teachers \n \n  \nAmrit Saraswati \nAmrit is a dedicated student and teacher of yoga and meditation. She completed her first yoga teacher training with Ashram Yoga in 2012 and has been learning\, deepening and sharing traditional yoga practices in various retreat centre’s around New Zealand for the last decade. \nShe has been offering Silent Meditations Retreats for the last 10 years and is passionate about the transformation and growth it inspires in people. She teaches with compassion\, authenticity and humility. Her calm and concise teaching allows people to go deep within themselves and have their own unique experience. \n\nFor any enquiries\, please get in touch with Amrit at 108hariaum@gmail.com

SUMMARY:The Samadhi Sessions – A Meditation Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The Samadhi Sessions\nA 3-day meditation retreat with Frank Arjava Petter\nThis is a rare opportunity to spend three immersive days learning directly from one of the world’s most respected meditation and Reiki teachers. \nHeld at Mana Retreat Centre\, this retreat is an invitation to step out of the noise of everyday life and into a space of presence\, awareness\, and reconnection. \nFrank Arjava Petter brings decades of experience\, drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions to guide participants into meditation in a way that is grounded\, accessible\, and deeply personal. \nThere are many meditation techniques\, and part of this journey is discovering which one truly resonates with you. \nBecause meditation is not something to force. Which technique you practice is not important. What matters is that it feels right for you. \nThere are many meditation retreats\, but very few opportunities to explore meditation under the guidance of a teacher with this level of depth\, lineage\, and global experience. \nArjava has spent decades teaching internationally\, working with thousands of students across Europe\, Asia\, and beyond\, and has played a significant role in preserving and sharing the authentic roots of Reiki and meditation. \nRather than following a single method\, this retreat offers a direct experience of multiple meditation approaches\, allowing each participant to explore\, feel\, and discover what works for them. \nThis is what makes the practice sustainable. Not discipline alone\, but connection. \n\nAbout this Retreat\nThis retreat is designed to help you discover a meditation practice that feels natural\, supportive\, and deeply nourishing. \nYou will be guided through a range of techniques drawn from different traditions\, including breath awareness and grounding practices\, Vipassana (insight meditation)\, Zazen (Zen sitting meditation)\, Taoist inner practices\, techniques from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra\, self-enquiry (Ramana Maharshi method)\, Osho active meditations\, and body awareness practices. \nEach session is experiential\, allowing you to move beyond theory and into direct understanding. \nAcross the three days\, you will explore different layers of awareness. \nDay One focuses on the body\, arriving into the body and developing awareness of inner sensation\, releasing tension and establishing a grounded presence. \nDay Two focuses on the breath and energy body\, exploring breath as a bridge between body and mind\, developing calm\, clarity\, and an embodied sense of awareness. \nDay Three focuses on the mind and inner awareness\, exploring the nature of thought and deeper consciousness\, and moving beyond habitual thinking into stillness. \nThis retreat is open to anyone who feels called. \nWhether you are new to meditation or have an existing practice\, this space is designed to meet you where you are. \n\nWhat will the retreat cost?\nTuition Pricing:\nEarly Bird: $550 (available until 31 August\, or until allocation is filled)\nStandard: $650 (1 September – 15 October)\nFinal: $700 (from 16 October until retreat start) \nMana Accommodation & All Meals:\nCommuting: $325\nCamping: $385\nShared Room: $565 – $610\nSingle Room: $655 – $715 \nTotal Participant Cost (all inclusive): \nEntry Level (most accessible)\nCommuting: $875 – $1\,025\nCamping: $935 – $1\,085 \nShared Rooms (most common option)\n$1\,115 – $1\,310 \nPrivate Rooms\n$1\,205 – $1\,415 \n\nIntroducing \nYour Teacher\nFrank Arjava Petter is an internationally renowned Reiki Master\, meditation teacher\, and author whose work has influenced the global understanding of Reiki and spiritual practice. \nHe has taught thousands of students worldwide\, lived and trained extensively in Japan\, and has spent decades researching and preserving the authentic roots of Reiki. \nHis teaching style is grounded\, direct\, and deeply experiential\, guiding participants beyond theory into lived awareness. \n\nHosted by Catherine Parr. \nSpaces are limited and this retreat is expected to fill. Early booking is recommended. \n
