SUMMARY:Qi Gong Retreat with Hedwig
DESCRIPTION:Qi Gong Retreat with Hedwig \n28 November\, 4pm – 1 December\, 2pm  \n\nA 3-day retreat to explore the Blue Dragon style of Qi Gong \nBlue Dragon Qi Gong is an elegant and graceful practice combining stretching\, warmups\, breathing\, and flowing exercises. The movements are inspired by dragon-like motions and emphasize stretches and flows to encourage optimal Qi flow through the meridians. \nBy learning the Blue Dragon routine\, you will nourish your internal organs\, accelerate physical healing\, increase vitality\, flexibility and inner strength while deepening your knowledge and practice of Qi Gong. \nWhat is Blue Dragon? \nThe Blue Dragon is also a mythical figure and archetype embodying certain inner qualities we can enhance within ourselves. Sometimes these qualities are not integrated\, or we don’t have access to that inner resource. \nThe color blue represents both water and sky\, symbolizing the vastness and openness of the heavens and the fluidity\, adaptability\, reflection\, depth\, and cohesiveness of water. \nAnd so\, the qualities related to Blue Dragon that we will be practicing and exploring through breathwork\, meditation and movement are strength-resilience\, inner wisdom-reflection\, spaciousness\, calmness-tranquility and fluidity. \nThe dragon has so very much to teach us and when we dive into this particular style of Qi Gong it gives us an opportunity to delve deeper into our own innate\, untapped power and potential.  \nWe all have a tremendous amount of energy within us and sometimes all this energy is dormant like a dragon within us\, waiting to be released and explored. \nUltimately\, Qi Gong is a practice for life. The intention is that when we cultivate and strengthen these qualities and principles through our practice\, we can embody and express them in daily life. This is very empowering! \n\nWhat other people had to say\nIt was awesome practicing with you and having such a loving shared experience. \nIt was such an amazing experience\, you are brilliant. \nI love this truly awesome practice. Hedwig is a wonderful teacher and this practice is absolutely supreme\, it fills my cup every time I do it. \nYou offer such an incredible gift in service to the well-being of others…. you are an inspiration to me. \n\nWhat to expect\nLearn a dynamic Blue Dragon Standing Routine and a gentle Blue Dragon Seated Moving Meditation \nPractice indoors and out in nature \nFeel inspired and empowered through tuning into the qualities of the Blue Dragon  \nEnjoy the beauty and magic of Mana with its expansive views\, peaceful setting\, wonderful walks\, delicious organic food\, and supportive staff. \nPlease note that some parts of this retreat will be conducted in silence  \n\nDaily Schedule\n \n  \n\nYour Teacher\n \nHedwig grew up in the Netherlands\, was trained as a teacher physical education and worked  as an outdoor instructor for 15 years until she left the Netherlands in 2000. Initially she travelled overseas\, then lived in India and Nepal for nine years where she engaged in Buddhist teachings & retreats and several charity projects. \nHedwig has been practicing meditation for over two decades and has been leading meditation classes\, courses and retreats since 2004. She is also a certified Holden Qi Gong teacher and leads all kinds of Qi Gong events.  These many years of personal practice and leading retreats & courses have resulted in a richness of experience and a genuine joy in sharing and guiding others in meditation & movement practice. \n\nThis retreat is suitable for all skill levels: those new to Qi Gong as well as those with previous experience. \nFor more information\, contact Hedwig at qigonghedwig@gmail.com \nFor an impression of the practice\, visit: https://www.youtube.com/@QiGongwithHedwig or https://www.facebook.com/qi.gong.with.hedwig

SUMMARY:Eyebody Retreat with Peter Grunwald
DESCRIPTION:Please note that before booking below for Mana accommodation\, you must first register and complete payment on the Eyebody website >> Eyebody Registration Page \nThis unique experiential retreat with Peter Grunwald explores the integration of vision\, eyesight\, posture\, movement\, relaxation\, imagination and brain function. The EYEBODY method is a principle-based educational process that can transform your way of seeing and being. It can help you let go of the habit of wearing glasses or contact lenses. Central to the method is the understanding that eyesight and vision are flexible and can be changed. This is true of many known visual symptoms such as myopia (short-sighted)\, presbyopia (middle-age vision)\, hypermetropia (far-sighted vision)\, astigmatism\, cataracts\, light sensitivity\, and glaucoma. \n\nOn the 6 day Eyebody retreat you will: \n\nUnderstand the visual process and your unique visual function\nMake your first steps without glasses or contacts\nLearn to apply the Eyebody principles to the process of seeing\nEnhance the primary control mechanism through depth perception\nLearn how to integrate the Eyebody method into activities of your daily life\, such as walking\, driving and working.\n\n\nThe EYEBODY Method: \nBrings clarity to the physical\, mental\, emotional and spiritual aspects of seeing. It is beneficial for people of all ages and offers a comprehensive learning experience. The method is based on principles that can transform your seeing and being. These principles can help you to let go of the habit of wearing glasses and contact lenses. EYEBODY coordinates the brain and releases tension in the eyes and the whole visual system. Through the EYEBODY patterns\, the body is reached in an indirect way and can have a positive effect on many conditions\, such as neck\, back and joint pain\, asthma and general fatigue. \nEYEBODY enhances clear thinking\, integrates all the senses (especially hearing) and makes the processing of information effective. Clear sight is only one aspect of vision. Perceiving the world in more depth and letting go of over- and under-focusing promotes a deep sense of well-being that permeates all aspects of life. Very often physical\, mental and emotional difficulties can be transformed\, the roots of which may have seemed elusive. The retreat combines individual and group work. In time\, many students have completely discarded their glasses or have avoided needing glasses through this educational experience. Essential for maintaining good vision\, the course includes work on myopia\, hypermetropia\, presbyopia\, crossed and lazy eyes and other vision disorders. \nPeter Grunwald discovered the connections between the eyes and the body in the early 1990s. These EYEBODY patterns describe how every part of the eyes\, the visual pathway and the visual cortex is connected to a specific area of the body. Particular visual symptoms correspond with specific tensions in the body. \n\n\n\nIntroducing\nThe Teacher\nPeter Grunwald was myopic and astigmatic from early childhood\, with his first pair of glasses at the age of 3. He began to stutter and both his posture and self-esteem slumped. \nIn 1984 he began a 4-year full-time professional training in the Alexander Technique (Australia) to overcome his stuttering and slumped posture. He emerged from his training with his stuttering vastly improved\, a sense of postural and mental poise and increased self-esteem. \nHe went on to study in Germany with renowned vision leader Janet Goodrich\, PHD\, and within 18 months was able to let go of his 10 1/2 dioptrestrong glasses. His discoveries of the first intrinsic associations between eyes and body followed in 1992 and led to high resolution in clarity. Since then he has continued researching and has developed a learning method in his own name. \nPeter now consults privately\, writes\, and leads seminars in nine countries around the world. He lives in New Zealand.

I have been living in New Zealand for about 20 years. I started my own Yoga company called Yummy Yoga in 2013 and have enjoyed adding more and more classes to our schedule as the demand has increased. Nicki joined me a few years ago and has become my trusty right-hand Teacher at Yummy Yoga.\nI attended a few Retreats at Mana myself a while back\, and then I started holding my own retreats\, along with Nicki and another awesome teacher. I think this is our fifth retreat at Mana and we seem to enjoy it more every time!We are looking forward to offering another wonderful weekend of delicious self-care! Nicki and I will have many offerings for you – and everything will be optional: Some wonderful walks\, Flow yoga\, Yin Yoga\, Fun Yoga and Yoga Nidra Meditations: All available for those of you would like to join us. \n  \n\nNicki I first started going to yoga classes with my Mom and my Gran when I was about 14 years old. However\, I have memories of looking at a picture book of yoga asana that my Gran had\, when I was just a little girl\, and being fascinated with a picture of someone doing Lion pose (with their tongue sticking out as they “roared”) Even today\, Simhasana is probably one of my favourite poses because it reminds me of my Gran. Although I have been practicing yoga on and off for many years\, I decided to dive deeper into it\, (inspired by Caroline) and to train to become a Yoga Teacher. It has been such a wonderful journey and I cannot wait to get back to Mana and share the beauty of yoga with you all on this fabulous Mana Retreat weekend together! \n\nRegistration\n  \nFor further information about the Retreat\, please see Mana Weekend Retreat 2026 | Yummy Yoga \nAnd/Or email Caroline@yummyyoga.co.nz \n

SUMMARY:Into The Green - A Herbal Medicine Retreat with Clio Meyer
DESCRIPTION:  \nInto the Green Fabric of the World\nA Herbal Medicine Retreat\n  \nA bit of a green thumb? Or some herbal interest for the healing properties of plants? Here is a retreat to give it a go and dive into Herbal Medicine by doing it. \nWhat if all this time you knew that magic was real? Now is the time to unleash your wildest witch’s dreams and experience them in real life. Yes\, we will be brewing some remedies\, gathering in circles\, harvesting herbs\, and tasting edible wild plants. It will be so refreshing that our bodies will feel renewed\, vibrant\, and full of life! You will learn in a playful way to heal yourself and your loved ones with plants growing around you! \nWhat’s more\, my particularity is to facilitate everyone’s communication with the plants\, for you to actually know what you are creating. This isn’t your usual edible weed walk weekend – even though we will go in the garden and make green smoothies. We will go further than that\, with invitations to shift perception and meet the plants in a different way than by the book. After having attended two retreats with Clio myself\, I can highly recommend signing up for one and bathing in the wealth of knowledge and connection she brings to her workshops and retreats. In particular the retreat space offers a immersion you can’t really achieve otherwise.” D.P.\, Coromandel \n“Thank you so much for organising this retreat for us. I had such a lovely time away from the noise of my world\, I wish it had been longer is my only complaint! I’ve also been using the two oils I purchased from you\, my gosh they are SO potent! Magic in a bottle! The moonlight oil just does SOMETHING to me\, its amazing.” S.D.\, Auckland \n“Thank you Clio!\nI was blown away how seamlessly and with ease you held each one of us\, while imparting your incredible knowledge and enthusiasm. It was perfectly paced and just oh so delicious!!! Long drive home\, but I was buzzing all the way\, and reflected on gratitude that the timing was perfect to join this retreat. I will continue to incorporate some of your gems of wisdom into my routine. Much love and light” S.H.\, Auckland \n“What a glorious weekend it was – thank you so much. It was such a gift and at a perfect time for me . . . now I need to carve out a bit more space to practice\, and play with treasures that you shared.” A.G.\, Raglan \n“I want to thank you so much for running your beautiful retreat\, and sharing your amazing plant knowledge. Really special to be on your first one.\nYou held the space in perfect balance and allowed things to unfold (felt like how flower opens its petals – nature does not rush it). Admired your delicate approach. Felt very comfortable and so enjoyed the nourishing food\, and treats\, and felt spoilt with everything we got to take home. Most of all I got to learn a more respectful way to be with plants. Back home Sunday night\, was so still – I took notice of a pittosporum tree – (which I never paid much attention to)\, and felt like it’s leaves tickled my face.” L.M.\, Waihi \n\nMore about your host:\nClio loves to create spaces for people to meet plants. She likes to empower people to create vibrant herbal remedies for themselves and their loved ones\, by deeply listening to the breathing forest’s harmony.\nWith her herbalist dad\, she learned early on how to observe Nature and how to heal with plants. She first completed a MS in Earth physics\, which gave her a solid scientific foundation.\nLater she completed two apprenticeships in shamanic herbalism with Amy McComb (Herbal Diploma in Biofield therapy from Plant Rhythms) in the lineage of Susun Weed\, and together went through dietas of over a hundred Native and European plants and trees.\nWith a second background in physical theatre (Ecole Internationale Jacques Lecoq)\, she now teaches her sensible approach to herbal medicine\, offering full immersion retreats\, ceremonies and workshops. \n\nA word from your host:\n  \nThis Herbal Medicine retreat at the end of summer is an opportunity for us to ground in our bodies\, to relax in the bountiful Nature and to fully embrace the harvesting season. \nOf course we will be exploring different ways to prepare herbal medicine\, that can honour and work on the many layers of the human body\, heart and soul. Plants have many ways to share their wisdom and medicines\, and it is up to us to allow them into our lives. For this purpose\, we will engage with plants in various forms\, from journeying with the drum to meet the plants spirits\, immerse in Nature\, harvesting playfully\, discovering herbal kinesiology\, dietas\, creating art & rituals\, slowly tuning into our herbal intuition\, getting confident in there\, and create highly potent medicines. My wish is to empower anyone who wants to connect with Plants and Trees. \nThis threshold between summer and autumn calls for strong medicines\, like tinctures\, resins\, scrubs\, oils. And a potent support of music. After all\, many traditions around the world sing the vibrations of the plants to activate the plant medicine in the human body. I am so excited to have Matt Pike\, a talented musician\, join us to amplify our medicine making. \nTo ice the picture\, we will be hosted in the most fabulous and magical place\, Mana Retreat Center\, featuring an outdoor bath\, sauna\, a chapel on top of the crystal mountain\, 160 acres of pristine bush\, lush garden and facilities\, and a delightful crew feeding us wholesome meals. \nAt the end of this journey\, you will bring home the medicines you crafted\, a beautiful manual with transmissions and recipes\, giggles with like-minded souls\, some old and new experiences with the green world\, and hopefully a lot of joy\, inspiration and more! \nI am bringing all the transmissions that have been passed down to me as a herbalist so far\, as I am being called back to my roots\, to travel back to France for a while. \nFor those who’ve been to my retreats before\, it will be reawakening your gifts and going deeper into your craft and healing with the plants. For beginners\, elders\, plant lovers\, I wish this journey to be a seeding and potent reunion of our souls\, around the big fire that ignites herbal medicine in all of us. \nUntil then\, may you see the beauty in you and surrounding you 🌿💚\nMany green blessings\,\nClio

SUMMARY:Qi Gong Retreat with Hedwig
DESCRIPTION:3-Day Qi Gong Retreat with Hedwig\n13 March\, 4pm – 16 March\, 2pm\n\nQi Gong is the art of working with your internal energy: increasing\, improving and optimizing your aliveness\, the ‘inner spark’ within yourself. We want to unlock the power within ourselves\, and Qi Gong offers a variety of skilful ways to unlock this precious internal energy. Energy here refers to internal power and potential. The power and potential to have a healthy body full of energy\, to feel happy\, joyful\, connected\, fulfilled\, and the power of a calm\, clear and intuitive mind. \nThere are seven principles of practice\, seven ‘ingredients’’ that when applied in a certain order\, make your Qi Gong practice very efficient\, powerful\, dynamic\, rich and complete. The seven principles are: breathwork\, warm-up\, stretching\, activation\, flows\, standing postures and meditation. \nDuring the retreat we will take a deep dive into each of these principles so that you start to understand the why and the how behind every aspect of working with the life-giving energy you have within. \nWe will also explore how our practice relates to life itself. It is empowering to learn skills on how to transform stress into vitality\, how to stay connected in challenging situations\, how to move and live with effortless ease instead of ‘efforting’ our way through every day. And so\, Qi Gong can be seen and practiced as ‘a way of life’. \n\nWhat other people had to say:\nI love this truly awesome practice. Hedwig is a wonderful teacher and this practice is absolutely supreme\, it fills my cup every time I do it. \nMy gratitude and appreciation for all you shared. My heart feels open and my base feels stronger. I am ready to journey on. \nHedwig’s Qi Gong retreat was such a precious experience – held in the beautiful surrounds of Mana\, I could really sink into her teachings\, practise deeply and cultivate motivation and ideas for continuing the practise at home. I wholeheartedly recommend Mana and especially the Qi Gong retreat with Hedwig. \nHedwig’s Qigong Retreat was amazing! I loved everything about it. The way Hedwig teaches Qi Gong is so informative\, interesting and easy to understand and follow. Loved the meditations as well and the balance between the two. \nIncredible experience. Hedwig is compassionate\, fun and passionate. Amazing teacher\, privileged to be there. She soars in joy and flow of Qi Gong \n\nWhat to Expect:\n\nLearn practices that support your health\, vitality and well-being.\nPractice different styles of Qi Gong: Five Elements\, Breathwork\, Tao Yin (an early form of Qi Gong)\, Three Treasures and more.\nLearn how to design your own Qi Gong routines.\nLectures on meridian theory\, energy anatomy\, 5 Elements theory\, acupressure\, healing.\nEnjoy the beauty\, magic and nourishing environment of Mana Retreat centre with its stunning grounds\, expansive views\, gorgeous meals and supportive staff.\nPlease note that some parts of the retreat will be conducted in silence.\n\n\nDaily Schedule:\n  \n \n  \n\nYour Teacher\n \nHedwig grew up in the Netherlands\, was trained as a teacher physical education and worked  as an outdoor instructor for 15 years until she left the Netherlands in 2000. \nFor an impression of the practice\, visit: \nhttps://www.youtube.com/@QiGongwithHedwig \nor https://www.facebook.com/qi.gong.with.hedwig \n

SUMMARY:Open Floor Community Dance
DESCRIPTION:Join a fabulous Open Floor Dance community\, sharing the joy of embodied movement most Tuesdays at Mana.  \nWhen: \nMost Tuesday Mornings at Mana. \nTime: 10:00–11:45AM / COST: $25-$20 Sliding Scale \nFeel free to arrive from 9:45am. T he music will be on if you’d like a longer warmup\, or if you’re new come early so we can welcome you. \nWhat is Open Floor Conscious Dance? \nOpen Floor is a lively dance and movement practice that energises the body and opens the mind. \nThere are no moves to learn. We simply show up and move with whatever is present: our creative minds\, our tender hearts\, our joys and excitements\, our aches and pains. And in the process we discover our own unique dance. \nClasses include guided inquiry as well as time to follow your own dance. The teachers select diverse music to inspire creative expression\, wild abandon and quiet awareness. Sometimes we experience insights and healing\, and sometimes we simply have a great dance. \nThe open dance floor becomes a playground for exploring the relational nature of being human: our ever-changing needs for solitude\, connection and a sense of community. We learn life skills that serve us on and off the dance floor\, helping us to develop a flexibility and resilience that enables us to respond creatively to life. \nNo experience is required. \nThe invitation is to come just as you are. \nFOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OPEN FLOOR DANCE LOCATIONS CONTACT PIPPA OR LISA \nPippa: 02102963632 or visit Prana Dance \nInstagram: @pranadance_nz / www.facebook\,com/pranadance \nLisa: 0211754741 or visit www.wildbonesopenfloor.co.nz \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wildbonesopenfloor \nEmail: wildbonesopenfloor@gmail.com

SUMMARY:5 Day Silent Meditation Retreat with Amrit Saraswati\, Yogamurti Saraswati and Scott Connor
DESCRIPTION:Join Amrit\, Yogamurti and Scott for an inner journey to discover the beauty of silence and explore the Self through various yogic techniques and meditation practices. \nThe retreat will be held at the stunning Mana Retreat Centre\, which is nestled in the luxuriant bush covered hills of the Coromandel with views out over the sea and islands. The warm\, welcoming\, natural atmosphere supports individual learning and renewal. \n\nThe Yogic Way of Meditation \nContrary to what many people think\, meditation is not passive nor is it about having an empty mind. Instead\, it is about self-exploration and allowing our innermost being to express itself. \nIn this yogic tradition\, we utilise breath awareness\, mantras (sacred sounds)\, charkas (energy centres)\, and energy pathways to develop subtle awareness and penetrate the deeper layers of our mind. \nRather than viewing our thoughts and emotions as distractions\, we work with what is and embrace the total spectrum of our inner experience with self-compassion and kindness. This eventually leads us to discover our true nature – the treasure within. \n\nThe Programme \nWe offer a well-structured programme. Each day is woven together by: \n– Sitting and Walking Meditation\n– Hatha Yoga (asana\, pranayama\, mudra\, and bandha)\n– Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation)\n– Chanting\n– Group Discussions\n– Use of Sauna and Bush Bath\n– Free Time to Rest and Connect with Nature \nA day will look like this:  \n6.30am Yoga – Asana & Pranayama\n8.00-9.30am Breakfast & Free Time\n9.30am Meditation\n10.30am Break\n11.00am Meditation\n12.15pm Yoga Nidra\n1.00-4.00pm Lunch & Free Time\n4.00pm Yoga – Asana & Pranayama\n5.00pm Meditation\n6.30pm Dinner\n7.30pm Evening Session \nThis retreat offers a deep dive into the self. Although it accommodates all experience levels\, a genuine willingness and openness for self-exploration will help you get the most from the experience. Throughout the retreat\, you will be guided with compassion and respect. We create a safe and nurturing space for you to go deep. \n\nSilence \nSilence\, a spiritual practice in itself\, enables us to internalise and supports a deeper kind of nourishment. In a silent and meditative environment\, the body relaxes\, awareness sharpens\, and space opens for hidden impressions to release and insights to develop. Silence allows us to slow down and be truly present with our senses and the world around us. \nSilence will be observed from Friday until the end of the retreat. You will have opportunities to ask questions and share your experience during group discussions. \n\nWhat others say about this retreat: \n“Every person I met at the retreat had some need for tender care. And the land\, the staff\, the teachers and the teaching shared\, do just that. They create the conditions for you to open up to healing.” – Francesca Bacci \n“The structure of the meditation retreat was a well thought out balance between movement and stillness which allowed for a smooth transition from daily life into peacefulness and relaxation.” – Fay \n“Silent Meditation Retreats have been more healing and revealing than any other ‘personal growth initiative’ I have undertaken…Each retreat has strengthened the relationship with myself.” – Sarah \n\nIntroducing\nThe Teaching Team \nAmrit Saraswati \n \nAmrit is a dedicated student and teacher of yoga and meditation.
