Into the Green Fabric of the World
A Herbal Medicine Retreat
A bit of a green thumb? Or some herbal interest for the healing properties of plants? Here is a retreat to give it a go and dive into Herbal Medicine by doing it.
What if all this time you knew that magic was real? Now is the time to unleash your wildest witch’s dreams and experience them in real life. Yes, we will be brewing some remedies, gathering in circles, harvesting herbs, and tasting edible wild plants. It will be so refreshing that our bodies will feel renewed, vibrant, and full of life! You will learn in a playful way to heal yourself and your loved ones with plants growing around you!
What’s more, my particularity is to facilitate everyone’s communication with the plants, for you to actually know what you are creating. This isn’t your usual edible weed walk weekend – even though we will go in the garden and make green smoothies. We will go further than that, with invitations to shift perception and meet the plants in a different way than by the book. This is to allow your natural herbal intuition to kick in, and unleash your talents with plants. To literally enter and immerse yourself in the green fabric of the world. We will do drum journeys, meditation and kinesiology with the plants. I will guide you & give you tools to (re)discover your own language with the green world and how to use it to make incredible herbal medicine. And this in a very simple and playful way!
What if you could both have a playful and a restful time? On the majestic land of Mana Retreat Center, we will be pampered by the beautiful staff and the luxurious facilities – featuring an outdoor bath, a wooden sauna, an octogon, a sacred sanctuary, and 160 hectares of pristine native bush. Let go of any stress, and let yourself relax & be nourished, the green way.

Testimonials:
“Beautiful offering. After having attended two retreats with Clio myself, I can highly recommend signing up for one and bathing in the wealth of knowledge and connection she brings to her workshops and retreats. In particular the retreat space offers a immersion you can’t really achieve otherwise.” D.P., Coromandel
“Thank you so much for organising this retreat for us. I had such a lovely time away from the noise of my world, I wish it had been longer is my only complaint! I’ve also been using the two oils I purchased from you, my gosh they are SO potent! Magic in a bottle! The moonlight oil just does SOMETHING to me, its amazing.” S.D., Auckland
“Thank you Clio!
I was blown away how seamlessly and with ease you held each one of us, while imparting your incredible knowledge and enthusiasm. It was perfectly paced and just oh so delicious!!! Long drive home, but I was buzzing all the way, and reflected on gratitude that the timing was perfect to join this retreat. I will continue to incorporate some of your gems of wisdom into my routine. Much love and light” S.H., Auckland
“What a glorious weekend it was – thank you so much. It was such a gift and at a perfect time for me . . . now I need to carve out a bit more space to practice, and play with treasures that you shared.” A.G., Raglan
“I want to thank you so much for running your beautiful retreat, and sharing your amazing plant knowledge. Really special to be on your first one.
You held the space in perfect balance and allowed things to unfold (felt like how flower opens its petals – nature does not rush it). Admired your delicate approach. Felt very comfortable and so enjoyed the nourishing food, and treats, and felt spoilt with everything we got to take home. Most of all I got to learn a more respectful way to be with plants. Back home Sunday night, was so still – I took notice of a pittosporum tree – (which I never paid much attention to), and felt like it’s leaves tickled my face.” L.M., Waihi
More about your host:
Clio loves to create spaces for people to meet plants. She likes to empower people to create vibrant herbal remedies for themselves and their loved ones, by deeply listening to the breathing forest’s harmony.
With her herbalist dad, she learned early on how to observe Nature and how to heal with plants. She first completed a MS in Earth physics, which gave her a solid scientific foundation.
Later she completed two apprenticeships in shamanic herbalism with Amy McComb (Herbal Diploma in Biofield therapy from Plant Rhythms) in the lineage of Susun Weed, and together went through dietas of over a hundred Native and European plants and trees.
With a second background in physical theatre (Ecole Internationale Jacques Lecoq), she now teaches her sensible approach to herbal medicine, offering full immersion retreats, ceremonies and workshops.
A word from your host:
This Herbal Medicine retreat at the end of summer is an opportunity for us to ground in our bodies, to relax in the bountiful Nature and to fully embrace the harvesting season.
Of course we will be exploring different ways to prepare herbal medicine, that can honour and work on the many layers of the human body, heart and soul. Plants have many ways to share their wisdom and medicines, and it is up to us to allow them into our lives. For this purpose, we will engage with plants in various forms, from journeying with the drum to meet the plants spirits, immerse in Nature, harvesting playfully, discovering herbal kinesiology, dietas, creating art & rituals, slowly tuning into our herbal intuition, getting confident in there, and create highly potent medicines. My wish is to empower anyone who wants to connect with Plants and Trees.
This threshold between summer and autumn calls for strong medicines, like tinctures, resins, scrubs, oils. And a potent support of music. After all, many traditions around the world sing the vibrations of the plants to activate the plant medicine in the human body. I am so excited to have Matt Pike, a talented musician, join us to amplify our medicine making.
To ice the picture, we will be hosted in the most fabulous and magical place, Mana Retreat Center, featuring an outdoor bath, sauna, a chapel on top of the crystal mountain, 160 acres of pristine bush, lush garden and facilities, and a delightful crew feeding us wholesome meals.
At the end of this journey, you will bring home the medicines you crafted, a beautiful manual with transmissions and recipes, giggles with like-minded souls, some old and new experiences with the green world, and hopefully a lot of joy, inspiration and more!
I am bringing all the transmissions that have been passed down to me as a herbalist so far, as I am being called back to my roots, to travel back to France for a while.
For those who’ve been to my retreats before, it will be reawakening your gifts and going deeper into your craft and healing with the plants. For beginners, elders, plant lovers, I wish this journey to be a seeding and potent reunion of our souls, around the big fire that ignites herbal medicine in all of us.
Until then, may you see the beauty in you and surrounding you 🌿💚
Many green blessings,
Clio
