The New Year brings with it a fresh start and a sense of rejuvenation and rebirth. It is an opportunity to set our intentions for the year ahead and consider ways that we can improve ourselves and the lives of those around us.Â
Moving beyond the traditional resolutions of get fit, lose weight and make more money, we at Mana are leaning towards an inspired and simple list of loving, giving and living.Â
Start and end each day with a grateful heart.
Find opportunities to practice kindness.
Live everyday with intention.
There is a lot to be said about keeping it simple, especially considering more than 92% of people’s New Year’s resolutions don’t make it further than two weeks into the year. It is a good time to make changes, and it is also a great time to acknowledge the things you are already doing well and perhaps give them a little more energy and time.Â
Just as important as setting an intention is having gratitude and the transition of one year to another presents an opportunity to appreciate all the learning and experience that the year past has offered.
We encourage you to take a moment, right now, to think about this past year; what was the greatest lesson you learnt? What are you most thankful for?
And right now; what is working in your life? What qualities would you like to welcome more of? joy, happiness, clarity, calm, freedom, creativity, relaxation, balance, just to name a few…Â
Is there something that you are holding onto – an old behaviour, way of thinking, fear, or doubt that is blocking you? Now is the time to let go. Where you’ve been has been important, it has helped shape who you are. But as you welcome in new energy into your life you can let go and trust that where you’re going is important and wonderful, too.Â
Let go, be free to step forward with new-found awareness and grow.
May the New Year see you loving, giving and living!
