Maybe you have heard the news already… the Centre is open again!
It was such a joy to open our doors to a very small and inspired group for our Coming Home to Yourself Retreat. It warmed our heart to have the kitchen filled with delicious aromas, the fires burning and a soft, nourishing space for us to awaken from our winter (lockdown) slumber.
At the same time we observed a powerful process of meeting our vulnerability as our team gathered to discuss the new protocols and guidelines for offering guest services during Level 2 Restrictions.
We realised, even within our small team, that there were varying ideas, opinions and perspectives around what it means to provide a ‘safe’ space for our guests.
In some small way, meeting our own vulnerabilities helped to expand our awareness of the state of polarity that exists in our world right now. It was a humble reminder of what it means to live compassionately.
Re-Opening After Lockdown
Opening the Centre has come with expected challenges, none so great as the journey of finding the middle way in a time of polarity. It is not easy, or clear. In fact, it is continually evolving and we will be the first to admit that we don’t know what we are doing.
We are adapting to our environment, which is in a constant state of flux. It requires us to be flexible, open to new information coming in and willing to respond with as much love and compassion as possible.
In the words of Brene Brown. “In our culture we associate vulnerability with emotions we want to avoid such as fear, shame and uncertainty. Yet we too often lose sight of the fact that vulnerability is also the birthplace of joy, creativity, authenticity and love.”
We know the value of having a safe space to be able to express our worries, hopes and insecurities. After all, that is the vision of Mana Retreat Centre…
To hold safe space for the exploration and awakening of consciousness, the unfolding of our creative and healing potential and the realisation of our essential unity.
That is why it feels so important for us to show up, each and every day honouring our vulnerability and holding a safe space for others to do the same.
Finding a New Way - Protocols & Safety
We take health, safety and well-being seriously and acknowledge that what is ‘safe’ for one person, may not feel ‘safe’ for another.
We will do everything we can to create a safe space for those who visit, stay and work at Mana whilst upholding the following public health advice regarding level 2 guidelines.
We will observe physical distancing.
Ask all guests to registering with QR tracer code or sign-in sheet on arrival.
Provide seated meal service.
And wear a face covering in times when physical distancing is difficult.
How you can help us:
- Please stay home if you are symptomatic of illness
- Wash your hands frequently. Hand Sanatiser will be available but we ask that you also bring a personal supply.
- Although we offer yoga equipment it will be really helpful if you can bring your own personal Yoga mat and blankets. However, if you borrow any yoga equipment we ask that you clean before and after the class. Sanitising spray will be available for your use.
- Please bring and use a sealed water bottle with your name on it.
- Bring your own face covering.
We appreciate your willingness to share the learnings of this unusual time and we look forward to seeing you soon.
