Society raises us to feel our sense of self worth is somehow hinged on our state of busyness. The more busy we are, the more important we are, to others and ourselves. When we are not busy, it is not uncommon for us to feel worthless. This deeply ingrained conditioning has us running on a hamster wheel with no foreseeable relief. For what purpose, we ask?
For the last couple of months we have been hosting Getaway Weekends at Mana. It has been a big change to our usual summer schedule which, in the past, has been packed to the rafters. These weekends offer accommodation only and have opened the door to people who may not have previously wanted to participate in a retreat, but who have longed to visit the land.
One of our recent guests shared “I have heard so much about beautiful Mana but never had the opportunity to get here. I was so excited to have the chance to visit without an agenda as I was feeling the need for an escape from timetables, busyness and expectations.”
When we are on retreat there is an invitation to unplug; to put down tools and take some much needed time away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is easy to presume that that, in itself, is enough. However, there is still a schedule or agenda which, in some ways, can feed our unconscious busyness-parasite.
It seems we are, in new ways, offering a space that is so greatly needed in our world right now. A place for people to relax and renew. To hit the pause button.
With no schedules. No classes. No workshops. No need to be anywhere at any particular time. This space is nurturing our need to rewire our minds and reconnect to the essence of life.
We understand that this type of Getaway is not for everyone. Not having anything to do when we are so used to having a to-do-list longer than our arm, can be confronting. However, for those who are in touch with that deep inner longing to retreat into nothingness, this is a very special opportunity.
If you are feeling the call, we invite you to join us. Relax into beauty, simplicity and tranquility with a self catered weekend stay. There are more details on our website manaretreat.com
Perhaps you will join us in the contemplation. In what ways does being busy make me feel worthy? How true is that in my greater sense of knowing?
